First Year sports afternoon :D

Yesterday Banba organised a sports day for all of the first years! It was to get them interested in athletics because Santry is coming up at the end of April.
For the last two years we have won over best Girls school :D
I was based on the shot put, I had to show them the right technique and also had to measure the distance they were throwing to see who won :D
Class Pearl won the best class on the day but they all did really well !!

The end of a great hockety year..

Well yesterday we played in a Leinster semi final in hockey it was the first time the school had made it so far in anything in hockey!
In the first half we played really well the backs were amazing with all the pressure they were under by the other team.
At half time it was no score. When the second half started it was still very tough, then about ten minutes in Rathdown got a goal :(
We were very close to getting an equalising goal, but it just didn't happen :/
It ended up 1:0
We were pretty gutted that we didn't get into the final but we still believe we improved so much this year.
I think next year will be the year for St. Wolstan's!!!

Jabba jabba jembe!

Well I bet you have no idea what this means, on Monday we did a percussion workshop with a guy called Dave!
It was really good the drum we were using was called a jembe :D
I found it really interesting to learn about an African instrument as I didn't really know much about it.

A week in the world of work :D

Well I spent a week in Co. Cork at a Solicitors office for my week of work experience.
I spent two of the days in court watching what they do there and I found it very interesting. The other days I was doing different things from photocopying reports to witnessing wills, I thought it was really good as I got to see a bit of everything so I get a great insight into what it would be like to be a solicitor.
I also did a few deliveries each day which was good as I got to see a bit of the businesses that solicitors work with, which was mainly other solicitor firms and the bank.

Overall I really enjoyed my week in the Solicitors and I would consider it as a possible career. :D
