Hotel Rwanda Some Shock :O

Over the past few weeks we have been watching Hotel Rwanda in religion class.
The movie is based on a real life story which makes it so much more real.
It was about the genocide in Rwanda in 1994, it was between the Hutu's and the Tutsi's. The Hutu's wanted to get rid of ALL the Tutsi's. The west of the world would not help any of the Rwandans just the White people from the west. This made me feel ashamed to be from the west as we just left people to be killed in such a cruel way. I believe this is unfair as we are all equal no one is better than anyone else!

Eventually the west helped move the Rwandans across the boarder!

It's incredible to think one man Paul (Hotel Manager) kept so many people alive and full of of hope, even when they thought they were all going to die. He never stopped believing that help would come to save them.

Paul now lives in Belgium with his wife three children, and also their two nieces who they then adopted.

For the last two years Our school has one best overall girls school! We were the first community school to win it!
This year I am hoping to do javelin and discuss. Last year I came second in Javelin.
It really is a great day of fun and there are so many events to see, some of the people are so good!
